MY TEETH WHITENING ROUTINE

Hello again everyone! I'm so happy to be sharing my teeth whitening routine today, and actually I don't know why I haven't done this sooner! I had a negative experience with at-home whitening strips in the past, so I won't be sharing any harsh products like that. My routine is easy, accessible, and effective. Keep reading for the breakdown!

I'm blessed to have naturally white-ish teeth to begin with. But, I love my coffee, and without my normal teeth whitening routine, my teeth revert to a dull yellow color that drives me crazy. I've always been hyperconscious of my teeth because when I was a kid I had a whole bunch of dental problems and crazy crooked teeth. Now, after years of surgeries and plenty of orthodontist appointments, my teeth look fairly straight and normal.

When I first started my blog at 15, one of my first reviews was on Crest 3D Whitestrips. I wanted to get whiter teeth and had a deal on strips so I scored them at a discount. I have sensitive teeth though, and those strips were way too harsh for me. I remember my teeth feeling really cold for a solid week. Although I saw some results, the sensitivity was not worth it.

Fast forward five years and here I am now with a gentle, consistent teeth whitening routine! This daily routine isn't one big harsh dose of chemicals. It's worked for me for a year now, and I know it does because when I have an interruption to my routine, like over the summer when I was traveling and using different products, I saw a difference. My teeth went back to this dull yellow color instead of my normal soft white color! Consistency is really key, and you won't see results overnight, but after a few weeks use and upkeep I think everyone should notice a whitening from this routine.
Here's what I use:

Crest 3D White Glamorous White Mouthwash ($4.89)

I love the extra kick mouthwash adds to that clean feeling after you brush your teeth. With this mouthwash, I don't get that heavy stingy feeling like some strong mouthwashes. It kind of foams up in your mouth, I don't know exactly why, but I like to think it contributes to the whitening process. Over time, I have seen a slight brightening in my teeth.

Colgate Optic White Toothpaste ($5.99)

I've used this toothpaste for years! This to me is like the heavy lifter of my routine. I think this toothpaste makes the most difference in making my smile brighter and whiter. Even with all its power, I never feel any sensitivity from it. If you only want to try one product I'm recommending with my routine, pick this one.

InVitamin Activated Charcoal Tooth & Gum Powder ($8.99)

This is a new addition to my oral routine! I have been wanting to try the activated charcoal powder trend for quite some time now. Lucky for me, I spotted this product from Marshall's on sale for only $6 instead of the usual price. I've been using this nightly before I brush my teeth with my normal toothpaste. My one complaint is I think it's difficult and messy to use. The powder comes loose in a plastic jar (see below), and it's hard to shake out onto a damp toothbrush. I always end up spilling a significant amount into my sink (and I hate wasting product). This stuff is really cool to use though, I'm sure everyone's seen on social media how crazy it looks when people brush with charcoal!

Here's another picture of me! While my teeth aren't necessarily porcelain white, they are definitely a natural looking white. My routine has never given me any sensitivity or felt too harsh. Like I mentioned before, consistency in the upkeep of your teeth using this routine is where you'll see results. This has worked for me for a while, even with my coffee drinking!

If you try my suggestions I would love to hear your feedback, and if anyone has other products they recommend please leave them in the comments below!
